How BDD Solves Common Agile Challenges
The AgilePhilly meeting on Tuesday July 23 ( the FOURTH Tuesday) features Richard Lawrence speaking on BDD - Behavior Driven Design
Agile methods like Scrum and Kanban are helpful, but they’re not enough. With just those process frameworks, teams can find themselves stuck facing some common challenges such as mini-waterfalls, too much or too little documentation, and increasingly painful testing over time. Too many Agile teams are going through the motions and not getting the value they were hoping for.
Behavior Driven Development, or BDD, is a collaboration approach for Agile teams that can solve these and other common challenges.
In this session, we’ll explore what BDD is and how it can help Agile teams overcome several common challenges.
Richard Lawrence is co-owner of the consulting firm Agile For All. He trains and coaches people to collaborate more effectively with other people to solve complex, meaningful problems. He draws on a diverse background in software development, engineering, anthropology, and political science.
Richard is a Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach and Certified Scrum Trainer, as well as a certified trainer of the accelerated learning method, Training from the Back of the Room.
Richard was an early adopter of BDD and led the development of the first .NET version of Cucumber, Cuke4Nuke. He is the co-author, with Paul Rayner, of the book Behavior Driven Development with Cucumber.
Richard hails from Colorado, and he is well known for his poster on How to Split a User Story
