AgilePhillly has teamed with www.DrupalDelphia.org for this spring conference.

This conference has 250 Drupal users from the east coast and is the kickoff event for Philly Tech Week.  The DrupalDelphia conference consists of multiple tracks, including:

2 rooms of Agile Topics & 5 rooms of Drupal

and other topics like DEVOPS, Cyber Security, JavaScript, UX and Accessibility for good measure

 

The location is Hussian College of Art at 15th and Spring Garden which shares space with Comm College of Phila and Harrisburg Univ, Phila Campus, with parking and easy public transportation - Suburban Station then 2nd stop on the Broad Street Subway. ( The only student activity are two labs on Friday, and the campuses are evening classes, and it is a Friday, so yes, we have lots of space for the conference.)

As for our audience of mostly Drupal Content CMS System workers & developers, new to Agile and new to AgilePhilly, I think our emphasis will be concentrating on LEAN and KANBAN and FLOW OF WORK and less so SCRUM.

Panel Discussion - Applying Agile to Business Contracts  15

After a short introduction by Mike Harris of the Premios Group, the panel will discuss "Agile Contracts"

Abstract: Yes, Agile Contracts are possible and are quite desirable.  There are methods to construct contracts to achieve outcomes using 3rd party resources in an Agile manner.  This is true for all cost-benefit evaluations, something that everyone on the team should appreciate.

 

 

The Panel will consist of

  • Mike Harris of PremiosGroup will set the mood discussing ways to Measure Business Value in a CMS Environment ( 20 minutes )

Mike Harris brings 30 years of broad management experience in the IT field, including the areas of R&D, production, business, and academia. He is an internationally recognized author and speaker on Value Visualization of IT, and is a thought leader in the international software development industry.

He is the President, CEO of Premios Group, and was CEO of DCG Software Value of Malvern PA.

  • At FIS, Mr. Harris led Channels Development and Operations Services within the Leveraged Products Development Group.
  • At Sanchez Computer Assoc, President of the Banking Solutions Division achieving CMMI Level 3 in 15 months
  • At MasterCard International, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Chip Card Group .
  • BS University of Southampton, England ; MS Coventry University, England. He is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET: UK), a member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE; USA), a member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group (GPSEG), and a member of Vistage. He is a Certified IT-CMF Associate, a Certified Scrum Master and a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant 4.0 (SPC4).

 Our Panel Discussion will then dig even deeper, with the following experts

      • David Bulkin, ( Grow-Lean LLC ) Internationally known trainer, consultant, coach and speaker, adding his views of Working to Discover Business Value
      • Chris Urban, ( Acquia) a Drupal Guru, Programmer and Project Leader will have insights into CMS construction
      • Paul Eisenberg, ( RSI Content Solutions ) has pioneered LEAN techniques in the Publishing industry, working with Authors, Publishers, Content Providers and Staff to streamline workflows 

Then on Friday Evening, there is a party to kick off Philly Tech Week, 5 pm – 10 pm , $10 for Tee Shirts.  I am not sure of the actual price.  Maybe just a cash bar ?

On Saturday 04/28, there is a Hackathon for Makers, concentrating on Accessibility. You can join Occupational Therapists, Adaptive Tech Professionals, and Tech Experts to help solve real-world problems encountered by disabled residents of Inglis House.
