The word "craftsman" has bothered me for a while (due to gender exlusivitiy), and I tend to say "craft" instead, but here's another proposal--codesmith--which ties nicely to wordsmith:

Thanks for sharing this. I prefer codesmith as well since it fits closer to our medium: code. And also because it sounds more humble than the craftman term. At least to me.
I would agree with both you. For lack of a good term I have been using Software Craftsman. I might consider changing that now.
