Yes, "Palmerston The Cat" was installed in the Foreign Secretary's office down the block on Downing Street - as a mouser in April 2016
This was mostly in response to "Larry The Cat" who was installed at 10 Downing Street in Feb 2011.

Larry became such a media success that he remains even when if Prime Minister is voted out. And he even got a chance to meet President Obama on one occasion. Larry retains the Title of Chief Mouser, but overall, his prowess as a Mouser is on the low-end. He was helped out briefly by Freya owned by Osborne of the Exchequer.

When President Trump visited 10 Downing, Larry did his bit to protest the visit.  (In the US Federal Code, Dr. Wang Wenyi was formally charged on 21 April 2006 with "knowingly and wilfully intimidating, coercing, threatening or harassing … a foreign official performing his duties," by confronting Chinese President Hu Jintao on 20 April 2006) Larry escaped prosecution and injury when he did a lie-in under President Trump's limo called the Beast on June 4 2019.)

Last to be installed in the government circles was "Gladstone the Cat" in June 2016 as Chief Mouser at the Treasury, followed by Evie, named after Dame Evelyn Sharp, the first female permanent secretary, and Ossie after Sir Edward Osmotherly, author of the Osmotherly Rules, the guide that civil servants have when giving evidence to parliamentary select committees.

It seems that most of these roles are like the US Supreme Court and are appointments for life. But Palmerston is unique in that he has appointed other mousers (Lawrence of Abdoun named after Lawrence of Arabia , and Leyla Pixie in Instanbul ) to their overseas roles.
