The Law of Demeter / Least Knowledge Principle
The less you know about the contents and the composition of your objects, the better. If you only know their interfaces, that's even better. This allows you to code to the interface, rather than the implementation, so that if the implementation ever needs to change, the impact is minimal. We'll discuss why this is important, and see some examples of how to remedy the situation.
