Since half of the name "Agile Philly" pertains to Philadelphia, it is appropriate that Agile Philly highlight those lesser known events in the city that are uniquely Philadelphian.
In that light, the city of Philadelphia, long festooned with monuments to soldiers, battles and emblems of freedom, has never had a parade dedicated to its veterans. Until now.
Sunday November 8th will be the first time a parade in Philadelphia will be held specifically to honor its veterans, those who perished in battle and those that survived.
Scheduled close to November 11th, the date of the Armistice of the Great War to end all wars, the event will be covered live by Channel 6 WABC news from the start until 1:30 p.m.
Whether attending in person or remotely, bring thoughtful thanks to those who have served and are serving.
A number of Medal of Honor recipients are also expected to attend.
The one-mile parade route will start at noon at S. Broad and Walnut streets, travel north on Broad around City Hall, east on Market Street before ending at Independence Hall.www.phillyveteransparade.org
