Presentation by David Gitlin
Abstract: My presentation will explore issues with applying traditional Scrum to mixed shore development and strategies for overcoming those issues. I will be exploring how many of the tenants of agile development become difficult to implement when teams are spread across different continents, time-zones, languages, cultures and business groups. Many tasks that are simple to implement with agile teams that are in the same room, become quite complex with mixed shore teams that are spread around the globe. The presentation will also review how to transform disadvantages into strengths. The theme of the presentation is that mixed shore teams can work, but there are no quick fixes, and significant amounts of time and resources must be used to ensure the efforts are successful.
