SUMMARY:One Statue that Should have been Torn Down
DESCRIPTION:On July 9, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read 
 in front of George Washington and his troops in New York City. The tro
 ops were so moved by what they had just heard that they tore down the 
 statue of King George in the Bowling Green section of Manhatten was me
 lted down to make musket balls for the Continental army. Forensic evid
 ence proved that some of these musket balls were used at the Battle of
