The Baldwin 60000 Locomotive arrived at The Franklin Institute on September 22, 1933. It took five days to move the locomotive five blocks from 24th and Vine Street to the Museum.
There are iconic photos taken during the move as train tracks were laid down on Spring Garden Street to get the Locomotive to the Franklin Institute. Although presented as a short term loan, the Locomotive was walled in and remained to this day.
A revision of the Train Room is planned which will take several years.
