Beyond Verification: Using Agile Testing to Drive Business Results
Testing can drive clarity and test adherence to specification, which is good, but why stop there!
Come to this session to find out how agile testing can be used to create better business cases and improve the probability that we deliver our targeted outcomes.
Our workshop will be hands on.
You will create testable examples, sometimes called executable specifications, to provide a lightweight, objective description of a need. The executable specification will get stakeholders are on the same conceptual page, so that developers can build what the business wants, and testers can prove it.
We then go further and use executable specifications to improve our business rules. Finally, we create tests in the Hypothesis Driven Development (HDD) format to test our business outcomes so that we can move beyond adherence to spec to driving good business outcomes.
This is a hands-on, fun, practical, technology - agnostic session, so come with pen, paper and a readiness to learn by doing.
( For a quick reminder of TDD, see https://agilepainrelief.com/notesfromatooluser/2017/11/test-driven-development-is-not-a-quality-assurance-technique.html )
This talk is geared toward defining and moving our teams - both Developers and Product Owners - toward Business Agility.
David Bulkin is a long-time member and a favorite of everyone at AgilePhilly, speaking at monthly meetings and October Conferences. This is a not to be missed talk. It is part of our series on IMPACT and OUTCOMES. David has done variations of this talk at past Agile Philly events, at Agile 20xx and at Scrum Gatherings.
The talk is appropriate for anyone looking to learn basics around agile testing.
The meeting will be the day after Martin Luther King Day.
So even for those who love kids, sledding, skiing or community service, you will still want to come.
The location for the meeting is FRONTLINE EDUCATION

Feb 13th works for me.
Feb 13th is fine
Feb 13 will work
Thanks, Feb 13 works for me, Tom
Feb 13 sounds good
I am buying more salt tonight on my way home.
NOAA Weather has
February 13 and 20th work for me as well.
Agree with moving the meeting Jan 16 meeting to Jan 18th due to the weather. I also had a conflict on Tuesday and if it's moved to Thursday, I'll be able to attend.
Both February 13 and 20 work for me.
Deb
I think that Weds the snow might still be a bad, so moving to WEDS may not be good either ( still digging the driveway out syndrome)
Other dates David has suggested " February 12th through February 19th "
So I am now thinking 2nd TUES FEB 13th . . . followed by
the NEXT MEETING on 3rd TUES FEB 20th
Does that work for you? P.S. You two must come and you must ask the first 2 questions.
