Event Description

A tour of the SEPTA Command Center

Sister User Groups here in Philly have an interesting tour for you.  BDPA Philadelphia and DVCUG for their next meeting on June 17, 2015 have a joint event that is a tour of SEPTA

The event is free, but you must register at the website under BDPA friends and family.

(BDPA is the Black Data Processing Associates and DVCUG Delaware Valley Computer User Group of IBM Midrange Systems    BDPA has had several joint meetings with AgilePhilly, the last one in April.

Eleven years ago, SEPTA opened its state-of-the-art Control Center, bringing supervisors, dispatchers and other personnel from all different transit modes under one roof - and on the same floor. While technological advancements have undoubtedly improved SEPTA's ability to oversee all-things service-related, being able to simply walk across the room  and talk to someone about issues that may come up has had a major impact on improving the communications crucial to providing outstanding customer service.

This tour will be facilitated by Michael Zalenski, Director of Emerging and Specialty Technology.
