SUMMARY:A Sit Down on TUESDAY April 18th Sheraton Olde City
DESCRIPTION:\nWHERE\nPhilly Emerging Tech Conference (a.k.a Emerging T
echnologies for the Enterprise) at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel\nht
tp://2017.phillyemergingtech.com/\n\nWHAT WE DO\nThe speakers who are
in town for the Philly ETE meeting on the evening of TUESDAY 04/18 mee
t with us at 6pm. You do not need to attend the conference to particip
ate. You do not need to RSVP here to attend. You can just show up.\n\n
WHO WE HAVE CONFIRMED\n\nMichael Feathers, author of the iconic Agile
book I live by, Working Effectively with Legacy Code\n\n\n\nAndrea Gou
let, modern thinker and author of many articles on the topic of \"Make
rs and Menders\" and \"Forget Technical Debt, Build Technical Wealth\"
and \"Empathy Driven Development\"\n\nTo get familiar with her work,
 start with\nhttp://firstround.com/review/forget-technical-debt-heres-h
 ow-to-build-technical-wealth/\nthen read\nhttp://www.empathy-driven-de

T A POWWOW with the PUNDITS\nWe will use the RSVP headcount for the Gi
rl Scout cookie count . . . yummmm\nAs in prior years, AgilePhilly mee
ts the TUESDAY EVENING smack in the middle of the Philly ETE conferenc
e at the Sheraton Olde City on 2nd street. We converse with the speake
rs who come to town to speak on the Agile track of the conference.\n\n
Same as last year when we had a free-form discussion. We generally sta
rt at 6:00 PM in a meeting room at Old City Sheraton where the Philly
ETE Conference is held - look for signs to point to the room.\nLate ar
rivals are welcome to come and jump in anytime.\nI usually sneak in a
plate of cookies\nWe generally only get about 10 to 12 people to show
up, but this committed core of people drive the subject of conversatio
n and we keep it informal with just chairs-in-a-circle format.\nWe sto
p at 7:30 so speakers can get dinner, or re-convene in the bar or the
restaurant.\nWhen Andre did it, he would often propose a topic, but I
just let the conversation happen.\n\nSo just show up when you can, and
bring a question or two, and be prepared to learn something new.\n\nT
HANKS\nOur thanks to Chariot Solutions for offering the meeting space
for this meeting. No food is available for this meeting, but we hope y
ou will join us afterwards at the bar or restaurant.\n\nLOCATION and D
IRECTIONS\nTo get to the location - I take the subway to 2nd and Marke
t and walk south 3 blocks.\nFor drivers, there is valet parking at the
  hotel and parking lots nearby.\n\n- - - - - - - - - - -\nPhilly ETE m
eets in Olde City. We Agile few gather there too as patriots and moths
to light.\n\n\nFor more information visit http://www.agilephilly.com/
