 iladelphia, it is appropriate that Agile Philly highlight those lesser
  known events in the city that are uniquely Philadelphian.\r\n\r\nIn t
 hat light, General George G Meade who defeated General Lee at the Bat
 tle of Gettysburg, is turning 204 years old on Dec 31st, 2019\r\n\r\nA
  grand event will be held in his honor at his current residence, with 
 many a champagne toast to salute his gallant life and many deeds. Brig
 antine Lighthouse and Fairmont Park are two examples of his talent and
  energy known to us locals.\r\n\r\nThis event begins at 11:30 am sharp
  with a formal parade starting at noon, and it will end in the early a
 fternoon (when all the champagne is gone. Many of us bring extra to ke
 ep things going.) This party in the afternoon leaves plenty of time fo
 r other frivolities later in the evening.\r\n\r\n\r\nWhy Champagne ?\r
 \nThe great man did not drink whisky or beer, but only drank champagne
  when he did drink, so we toast him with champagne. Note that Beer wil
 l also be available. Great food, drink and company will abound, just f
 or a picture of President Lincoln ( $5 ) !\r\n\r\nBe there early for p
 arking and to see the sights and sounds of true Philadelphians.\r\n\r\
 nTickets on the website are suggested, and there is a $5 cover charge,
  since quantities of Champagne will be distributed and consumed. There
  is no charge for those who come in civilian or military attire of the
  Civil War.\r\n\r\nThis is bound to be the event of the winter, so as

 , Old Baldy, a survivor of many wounds from many civil war battles inc
 luding Gettysburg. He is the only civil war participant around today w
 hich you can look eye to eye with.\r\nOld Baldy is also available to a
 nswer any question you have about the civil war, but he is a little sl
 ow to respond.\r\nOld Baldy still resides here in Philadelphia, and is
  usually seen dutifully welcoming visitors to the GAR Museum in the Fr
 ankford section of the city.\r\nUnfortunately, I hear he will not be a
 ttending the ceremony because of his current mobility problems.\r\nhtt
