SUMMARY:Dec 15th - Agile should make us Happy
DESCRIPTION:Jeremy Webb on AGILE and HAPPINESS\n Selling Agile can be
a difficult challenge, especially to those who are set in their ways.
Our understanding of why Agile works strengthens our ability to deal w
ith these difficult situations. One aspect rarely discussed when talki
ng about Agile is how Agile creates happier employees and how happier
employees result in better quality products and higher productivity.
Wouldn't it be great to be able to explain that relationship the next
time somebody says they don't understand why we shouldn't have a deadl
ine or why they can't interrupt the sprint?\n\n\n Join an interactive
discussion where we will blend science and real life experiences to un
cover the relationship between Agile, Happiness and Productivity. With
any luck, we might just have some fun along the way! Jeremy Webb's
decade in software has included a number of different roles in product
and organizational development, and he launched top performing produc
ts in emerging and existing markets, and was a key contributor in a tr
ansformation effort that led to selling a company for a billion dollar
 s. During this, Jeremy noticed trends in what makes certain teams and
organizations more effective than others and began researching and bu
ilding systems to replicate these high performance environments. In 2
013, Jeremy co-founded Organizational Engineering with the intent of C
hanging the Way the World Works and Making the World a Better Place Th
ough Better Business . The organization focuses on applying human beha
vioral principles that increase productivity and product quality thoug
h making work more fulfilling for employees. Organizational Engineerin
g provides consultation services, workshops and training programs that
help organizations make lasting transformations. This is a continuat
ion of our Oct 28th topic about Positive Attitudes from Richard Kasper
owski and Julia Ivashina, signatories of the Manifesto for Greatness a
