SUMMARY:Canada Day
DESCRIPTION:\r\n155th Dominion Day\r\nThe Dominion of Canada was forme
d by the British Parliament on July 1, 1867 via the British North Amer
ica Act (now known as the Constitution Act). The Act merged New Brunsw
ick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec.\r\nIn 1868, Governor General Lor
d Monck signed a proclamation calling on Canadians to celebrate its fo
rmation. But it wasn't until 1879 that the federal government first re
cognized Dominion Day.\r\nOver time, Canada gradually became independe
nt from Britain, and Dominion Day was officially changed to Canada Day
  in 1982.\r\n\r\nhttp://lite.cnn.io/en/article/h_837793110dfb1d9580b74
